Michael Jr. is a shining example of America’s heartland. A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Michael can thank “technical difficulties” for his launch into comedy. One night in a crowded movie theater, the projector malfunctioned. The film snapped, the house lights came on, and acting on a dare, Michael jumped in front of the restless crowd and took center stage. When the theater manager tried to usher him out, the audience demanded he stay…..and Michael Jr. discovered his gift.

Michael soon took his act to New York to make sure his Midwestern brand of humor could make it in the Big Apple. It did. He then moved to Hollywood to test the waters. Upon his arrival, George Wallace took him to the Hermosa Beach Comedy & Magic Club, home of Jay Leno and “The Tonight Show” staff. One night during a “Tonight Show” talent showcase. the club’s owner slipped Michael on stage before the showcase started. And one week later he was flown to the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, where he became the first comedian to ever appear live via-satellite on “The Tonight Show”. That performance catapulted his career and has resulted in additional appearances on “The Tonight Show”, Comedy Central, “The Late, Late Show”, BET, “Jimmy Kimmel Live”, SiTV, and “The Byron Allen Show”, as well as tour dates with the most prestigious comedy clubs across the nation, among them: The Improv, The Laugh Factory, The Comedy Store, The Punchline, The Comic Strip, and Zany’s, corporate bookings for clients such as Burger King, Tru-Value Hardware, Raytheon, and Comcast Cable, engagements at major universities, such as Notre Dame, the University of Massachusetts, and the University of Alabama, and even performances for churches such as the 60,000 member Willow Creek Church in suburban Chicago, and the 17,000 member West Angeles Church in Los Angeles. This November, Michael can be seen in “Thou Shalt Laugh”, a comedy DVD being released by Warner Bros.

Michael is happily married. He and his wife are the proud parents of two honors students, one student-athlete, and one superhero, their 6 year old son. Drawing from his personal experiences at home, it is only natural that Michael Jr. is known as the quintessential family friendly comedian.. His unique brand of comedy captivates mom’s and dad’s, sisters and brothers, grandparents and grandchildren, and has enabled him to enthrall people from the heartland to the inner city, from churches to prisons, from corporate events to youth rallies.
